Abu Hijlah: Legal agreement for published Alghad articles
Fuad Abu Hijleh, managing editor of Alghad newspaper has said that it shall take a number of procedures in order to protect the right of the newspaper's intellectual property of its column writers and caricaturists.
Abu Hijleh has told Albalad Radio that the newspaper is activating a number of laws in respect with the intellectual property and press law while reiterating that the new administration takes responsibility towards journalist materials in front of judicial committees in addition to the writer's cost by paying their salaries.
He also disapproves the fact that some websites publish materials of its writers without the permission of the newspaper without mentioning the source sometimes that he considers disrespectful of the writer and his intellectual property..
The managing editor of Alghad newspaper explains the legal actions the newspaper is planning to take for those who wants to to publish articles from it by having a legal agreement in advance to protect the right of all sides.
Abu Hijleh said thtat such action has nothing to do with a campaign from the newspaper against all websites by saying that this action is supposed to be in use long time ago, as Jordanian laws are activated sometimes and not activated at other times.
This decision comes because the newspaper respects its writer's efforts and such respect is shown here by mentioning their names and having their approval to publish the articles at least.
