SAWSAN ZAIDEH ELECTED VICE PRESIDENT OF AMARC

Jordanian editor Sawsan Zaideh was elected Saturday vice president of the Federation of Community radio stations AMARC in its global conference held in Argentina. Zaideh received 245 out of the assembly 395 votes. Zaideh beat out Egyptian human rights activists Jamal Eid. She replaces Daoud Kuttab who had won the same post in the Amarc9 conference held in Amman in 2006. Zaideh is head of development and international affairs at the COmmunity Media Network in JOrdan. She produces the weekly radio show Eye on the Media which runs on Radio al Balad and AmmanNet.net
