Maaytah: Elections on time without postponing

*Dialogue with Islamists still possible

*165 thousand objection accepted out of 420 thousand

*Third district records highest objection percentage

*Elections specialized website launched

Elections Spokesperson and Prime Minister political consultant Samih Maaytah has said that the upcoming 2010 elections is due on its time on November 29 as he denied any talks of an intention to postpone it to the year 2011.

This reiteration came during a press conference held to announce the accepted objections on voters' schedules in the presence of the Director of the Department Of Civil Status and Passports Marwan Qteishat.

Maaytah has explained that the postponing and the hesitating have nothing to do with the government's performance, yet, with the state's performance. He added that the state should not be hesitated in executing the constitutional rights.

No new information regarding the Islamists' boycotting for elections, Maaytah said. We hope they change this intention and participate in this process as dialogue option is still on with them.

It is difficult to link their return to the elections with the amendments to the temporary elections law, Maaytah said, as he drew attention to that the government did not have any problem with the Islamists recently, as the government looks at what it did as a chance to enhance the participation in the elections, not the boycotting process.

Mr. Samih mentioned during this press conference that the number of accepted objections reached 165 thousand out of 420 thousand requested by locals.
