Rotary District Governor visits clinic offering free dental treatment

The governor of Rotary district 2452, George Azar, visited Monday, the dental clinic of Dr. Samuel Kakish, an Amman-based dental and oral surgery clinic that offers dental services twice a month for free for the less fortunate and physically challenged individuals.



Azar, a veteran Lebanese Rotarian, is the governor of District 2452 which spans three continents and nine countries: Lebanon, Cyprus, Jordan, Sudan, Bahrain, UAE, Georgia, Armenia, and Palestine.



The visit to the clinic allowed the governor to interact with local Jordanians who are benefiting from the free service offered by the Amman Capital Rotary club through Dr. Kakish and his clinic. 

Governor George Azar said that he appreciates the chance to go out and meet people. He states: Our motto is "Service above self", and we can’t accomplish our goal without going out."

Samuel Kakish who has offered his service says that he is extremely happy to be able to help people who are in need. “I have been doing this for six years and this is the least we can do. I am happy to help and this work fits with the spirit of Rotary of helping others.”



The governor and guests were able to interact with some of the patients who had come to benefit from the dental service provided at the clinic. A mother and daughter said that they come from Jabal al Qusor while two young men said that they come from east Amman and were waiting to receive dental treatment. District Governor George Azar’s visit to Jordan started with attending a Membership Seminar attended by Jordanian Clubs and Online from the eight other countries of District 2452.

 The visit will continue with board members and attendance of regular meetings with most Jordanian Rotary Clubs. Lebanon has 29 rotary clubs while Jordan boasts 12 clubs.
