Malaha people live without water for two months

The increased temperature has added to the problems of Malaha people in Deir Allah who told Ammannet that they did not receive any water from the government for the past two months.

Many residents in Malaha have held Deir Allah water company head responsible for this crisis as he did not take any action to ease their suffering despite receiving many complaints from the locals on daily basis that the water is not being delivered to their homes.

Resident Hasan Barhomah has told Ammannet that this problem is due to the unjust distribution of the turns among the locals in the area.

Barhomah added that the other reason for Malaha problem is the violation of some locals against main distribution lines that supply their places.

Deir Alla directorate obtains the names of those violators, yet, it took no legal action against them as the directorate afraid from these people, According to Barhomah.

Deir Alla directorate's disability to protect the main distribution lines forced some of the locals to buy water on their own expense despite the hard life they live. Resident Moad Musa said he has to pay JD200 every month for water bills that they are not receiving.

Khaireya Ahmad, a house wife in Malaha, said that domestic works need water all the time, so it is at least preferable to have the water once a week to maintain personal hygiene.

Deir Alla water directorate head engineer Ghazi Odwan has denied from his side all these complaints from locals by saying that they receive drinking water once a week and that it is a matter of changing in turns.

This answer has been rejected by the 2341 residents who calls on a quick solution for their water problem especially in this hot summer.
