10 years in prison for former PM's brother
The State security Court has ordered the imprisonment of Hatem Al-Ghweiri, the brother of former parliament member Farhan Al-Ghweiri, for ten years and a fine of JD5000 for transferring drugs that was caught in his brother's car to Syria last August alongside with two others, where the court has set free a fourth accused for lack of evidents.
The court has found Al-Ghweiri guilty with transferring drugs for dealing purposes and when confiscated the car that holds a PM plate.
The decision was already 15 years, yet, the court has reduces it to 10 due to the minimum reasons in addition to JD10.000 fine.
Two other accused were find guilty as well and sentenced to 5 years at jail and JD300 and JD400 fines after changing the accusations to a failed accessory to dealing in drugs.
The case was on when Jaber Border Center security members caught drugs and forged currency in a car owned by former Parliament Member Farhan Al-Ghweiri drived by his brother Hatem along with two others.
