Community Media Network will introduce an innovative new journalism genre, Solution Journalism, in a one-day workshop which will engage Jordan’s civil society in using journalism to find solutions to local problems.

The workshop will take place Wednesday at the Century Park Hotel is  funded by the European Union and  will introduce the concept of solution journalism and will engage civil society actors into how they can apply this genre in their day to day efforts.

Daoud Kuttab director general of Community media Network says that solution journalism is badly needed in our world that is full of sensational problems only journalism. “While it is crucial to point out problems and be a watchdog, journalists must also provide the public with various solutions including out of the box ideas.”

Participants in the workshop will come from different parts of Jordan and will represent media activists, civil society activists and recent grantees of the EU small grants enabling women led civil society organizations to use media to advance their communities.
