In line with President Obama’s vision for expanded engagement between the United States and the Muslim world, a delegation of U.S. entrepreneurs led by a U.S Department of State representative arrived June 25 on a four-day visit to Jordan.
The delegation, which consists of leading U.S. venture capital investors, entrepreneurs and pioneers, is engaging with Jordanian entrepreneurs, investors, educators and government officials to share expertise and learn about the economic and entrepreneurial environment in Jordan. Members of the delegation have committed to provide seed and venture capital as well as high-impact mentorship to support emerging entrepreneurs.
The delegation consists of the following members:
- Dr. Magid Abraham, president, CEO and co-founder of comScore, Inc.(NASDAQ: SCOR)
- Saeed Amidi, Founder, President and CEO of Plug and Play Tech Center
- Mike Cassidy, Co-Founder and CEO of four start-ups: Ruba, Xfire, Direct Hit, and Stylus Innovation
- Court Coursey, Managing Partner of TomorrowVentures
- Usama Fayyad, CEO of Open Insights in Washington state
- Ossama Hasanein, who managed over the last 35 years more than $1 billion in 14 international technology funds at Berkeley International, Technocom Ventures, Newbridge Networks Holding, and Newbury Ventures
- Tom Keller, managing Director of TechStars
- Shervin Pishevar, a technology entrepreneur, published researcher, and technology incubation expert
- Joseph Nejman, Tomorrow Ventures
