The car of Al Jazeera correspondent in Amman, Ahmad Jarrar, was broken into by unknown assailants late Tuesday night outside his home in Amman.

Jarrar refused to charge anyone or give any possible explanations for the attack on his car, however he did not rule out that the attack was related to Al Jazeera coverage of events.

The attackers stole documents from the car that were later found by workers  near the vehicle.

The Information Office of the Directorate of Public Security said that Jarrar made a complaint on Wednesday morning to the Tariq Security Center, located within the jurisdiction of the police department of Northern Amman, for his broken car window and stolen papers.

The Public Safety office, immediately upon receiving the complaint, went to the Criminal and Forensic Laboratory and the Security Center to investigate the incident and the scene. It was discovered that the car window was broken by a stone and all police procedures were conducted at the site in order to gather evidence and arrest the culprit.

All of the papers stolen from the vehicle were found dumped near one of the buildings adjacent to the site. The investigation is still ongoing.
