King Hussein Foundation and Community Media Network sign MOU in the presence of Queen Noor

Amman January 4th- In the presence of Her Majesty Queen Noor, and Jordanian novelist Elias Farkouh,  the King Hussein Foundation (KHF) and the Community Media Network (CMN), signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at increasing cooperation between the two organizations.

The MOU signed by Hana Mitri Shahin, the executive director of KHF and Daoud Kuttab director general of CMN calls for cooperation “on projects aimed at raising awareness in education, gender issues, micro economy and the arts.”

The King Hussein Foundation administers eight entities, each of which are specialized in an area of development, will work with the Community Media Network’s Radio al Balad and Ammannet to expand outreach to the general public using Jordan’s leading community media platform.

In meeting with board members of CMN, Queen Noor said, “King Hussein would have been proud of what you are doing. The spirit at your organization and the approach you are undertaking here at the Community Media Network is very difficult but much needed and highly commendable... I am also heartened by your work with disenfranchised communities including Syrian and Iraqi refugees. “

CMN and KHF’s entities, including the Jubilee School, the Information and Research Center and the National Music Conservatory, will be collaborating on various projects aimed at empowering women and providing for community support throughout Jordan.

The Queen also made a tour of the facilities of the network and Radio al Balad and met with board members, staff and volunteers.
