Jordan Condemns Israeli Attacks on Lebanon, Calling Them a Flagrant Violation of International Law

On Tuesday, Jordan condemned the ongoing Israeli attacks on Lebanon, including the Israeli ground incursions in southern Lebanon, describing them as a blatant violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, international law, and international humanitarian law, and as a serious escalation threatening the security and stability of the region.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates emphasized the urgent need to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon immediately, ensure the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, and fully implement all provisions of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, thereby enabling Lebanese state institutions to carry out their duties.

The ministry affirmed Jordan’s unwavering support for Lebanon, its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens, while backing the Lebanese government’s efforts to assert control over all Lebanese territory, restore the functionality of national institutions, and ensure that weapons are held exclusively by the state.

The ministry also called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, hold Israel accountable to respect international law and international humanitarian law, and halt all attacks on Lebanon to prevent further escalation of the conflict and the deterioration of security and humanitarian conditions.
