Jordanian Abeer Madanat has been elected as a member of the Global Board of Directors of Transparency International, in elections held yesterday on the sidelines of the organization’s annual conference, attended by representatives from all Transparency International chapters around the world.

Madanat serves as the Executive Director of Rasheed for Integrity and Transparency, a Jordanian civil and voluntary organization that works to enhance citizens’ participation in anti-corruption efforts and to strengthen the resilience of public and private institutions against corruption — with the goal of achieving a cohesive Jordan governed by a strong integrity system.

Transparency International is a non-profit, non-governmental organization headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Founded in 1993, it operates in around 100 countries. The organization publishes annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) reports and collaborates with governmental and civil institutions to develop and implement effective anti-corruption measures.
