The Community Media Network (CMN), one of the leading non-profit media platforms in the Middle East and North Africa, announced the organization of a regional conference titled “Community Media in the Digital Age”,..25 years... independent human rights community media to be held on November 15–16, 2025, in the Jordanian capital, Amman.

The conference celebrates the 25th anniversary of the founding of Amman Net, the first online and community radio station in the Arab world. The event is expected to attract around 300 participants from inside and outside Jordan, including more than 50 international guests from the media sector, civil society, academia, and decision-makers.

The conference aims to highlight the vital role of community media in promoting transparency, empowering marginalized groups, and supporting social change, while also discussing the legal and financial challenges facing this sector and exploring ways to ensure sustainability and networking with civil society.

The conference agenda includes four main themes:

Empowering communities by amplifying the voices of groups underrepresented in traditional media.

Advocating legal reform to ensure the independence and continuity of community media.

Engaging with civil society to build an open and supportive media space.

Enhancing financial sustainability through innovative and sustainable funding models.

The Community Media Network welcomes initiatives from institutions wishing to organize special sessions within the conference, providing logistical support and inclusion in the official program.

This event represents a pivotal opportunity to rethink the future of community media in the region and to expand platforms that represent all voices, following an inclusive approach based on rights and social justice.
