International astronomy centre announces ramadan

The islamic crescent observation project, which is maintained by the international astronomical centre, has announced that next monday, 6th of may, would be officially the first day of Ramadan.

The centre has previously said in a statement about the possibility of  monitoring the cresecent with the eye, would be extremly difficult, however it might be possible by using a telescope only in the regions of south and east asia, souther europe and in most parts of the middle east.

However, in other parts of the world such as west and south africa, and the united states of america, can be mildly easy to monitor the crescen by the naked eye.

It is fair to say, that most of the arab world relies on monitoring the crescent by the naked eye, whereas other islamic countries use astronomical calculations to monitor the crescent.
