Hebrew media reported that Israeli occupation forces are preparing to launch an attack on the ships of the “Resilience Fleet” heading to Gaza, expected to arrive within the next three days, in order to take control of them.

Kan, the Israeli state channel, reported that the Israeli naval commando unit has conducted field exercises in recent days in preparation “to take control of the ships at sea.”

The occupation expects the ships to begin arriving on Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. However, several sources within the occupation described the situation as difficult due to the large number of fleet vessels heading to Gaza, and the possibility of losing control, attacking participants, and causing casualties.

The occupation authorities had requested that participants dock at the port of Ashkelon or Cyprus to unload their cargo, or transfer it via the Vatican to Gaza. The organizers, however, rejected these attempts, which they described as efforts by the occupation to prevent them from breaking the blockade.

The administration of the “Resilience Fleet to Break the Gaza Blockade” stated that it has the right to safe passage and humanitarian access under international law.

The fleet called on the governments of Turkey, Italy, Spain, and all other governments worldwide to translate their support into commitments and action.

It also urged the participating countries’ governments to escort the fleet toward Gaza’s shores to help break the blockade and deliver symbolic aid.
