Haddad: Jordan Will Fight for Every Ball and Stay Patient Against Austria
Jordan captain Ehsan Haddad has vowed that the national team will give its all when it takes on Austria, insisting the players are ready to fight and remain patient throughout the contest.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference in San Francisco alongside head coach Jamal Sellami, Haddad said the matches played so far at the World Cup have demonstrated the importance of discipline and composure over the full 90 minutes.
"The games we've seen in recent days have shown that the team which stays most committed to its game plan and remains patient throughout the entire match is usually the one that gets the result," he said.
Haddad stressed that Jordan will approach the encounter with determination and discipline.
"We will fight on the pitch, stay patient, and carry out what is required of us," he said.
The experienced defender also underlined that Jordan enters the tournament free from pressure, with the team's focus firmly on enjoying a historic occasion and representing the country with pride.
"We are here to enjoy the experience. No one has told us we must win the World Cup," Haddad said. "We are not among the favourites, but we are here to enjoy the tournament and give everything we have for our national team and for our country."
Reflecting on Jordan's historic participation, Haddad described hearing the national anthem on football's biggest stage as a moment of immense pride and motivation.
"Hearing the Royal Anthem at the World Cup is an incredible feeling and a huge source of motivation for the team," he said, adding that Jordan is determined to represent the nation in the best possible manner throughout the tournament.
