Dutch Ambassador: €400m to support Jordan over the next four years
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Jordan, Stella Kloth, has reaffirmed her country’s commitment to remaining a "reliable partner" for Jordan, despite global budgetary constraints in development funding.
Speaking at a reception in Amman marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations, Kloth announced the allocation of approximately €400 million over the next four years. The funding is earmarked to bolster security, stability, water management, and the hosting of refugees, alongside initiatives to enhance trade and investment.
The Ambassador emphasised the depth of a partnership built on "trust, shared values, and sustainable cooperation" between the two peoples, governments, and business sectors.
Kloth further praised Jordan’s regional role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, confirming that collaboration would continue to focus on supporting Syrian refugees, addressing critical water challenges, strengthening border management, and empowering the private sector.
Diplomatic ties between the Netherlands and Jordan date back to 1951, evolving over decades into a multi-dimensional strategic partnership. To mark this milestone, the Embassy launched a special 75th-anniversary logo, with commemorative events scheduled to continue through December 2026.
